WINTERSUN 2009 29th May to 8th June 2009
Australia's Leading Rock & Roll Nostalgia Retro Event....
Wintersun 2009 starts on Friday 29th May and ends with the huge Best of Wintersun Concert on Monday 8th June. Wintersun is Australia's leading annual Retro Nostalgia Festival. Featuring almost 1500 Hot Rods, Custom and Classic Cars, more than 100 bands and performers, dancing, movies, and competitions. The festival is held in the border coastal towns of Coolangatta and Tweed Heads on the New South Wales & Queensland border. Many events are free, some are in the streets while others are in the local clubs and shopping centres.
Merchandise Sites - We have finalised the 2009 merchandise layout and information will be posted to past stall holders on 6 October, bookings open on 13 October for Optimal Vendors and new stall holders from 27 October. CHANGES FOR 2009
We are now reviewing all aspects of the festival:
The following areas are being considered:
GRIFFITH STREET: Gold Coast Police, Council and retailers seem to be generally happy with the concept of using Griffith Street as a car display and entertainment area while sill allowing traffic. We are finalising traffic plans now.
STREET PARADE: We are working on routes, times and style and hopeful of a Parade in 2009.
CAR CRUISES: We are renegotiating the car cruises at this time.
BANDS & ENTERTAINMENT: We are now accepting suggestitions and submissions for performers for 2009 - if you are in a band or would like to suggest an act please email us now.
